Junk food and alcohol advertising would be banned from television during peak children’s viewing times under draft laws introduced into Federal Parliament today. The bill, introduced into the Senate by Greens leader Bob Brown, would also place restrictions on junk food advertising in schools. Senator Brown said the bill was aimed at combating childhood obesity, a problem he said Parliament could no longer ignore.
