Nemours Health and Prevention Services (NHPS) will host The 2008 Nemours Conference on Child Health Promotion, Thursday & Friday, October 23-24, at the Hotel DuPont in Wilmington, Delaware. Learn what is being done in Delaware and across the country to create healthier environments for children and families. Over one and one-half days, 40 speakers and 17 sessions will cover a variety of topics including the economic impact of obesity, designing livable communities, creating successful partnerships and coalitions, and using marketing techniques to influence policy and behavior. Hear from some of the nation’s pre-eminent speakers on issues affecting children’s physical and emotional well-being, including Keynote Speaker, Angela Glover Blackwell, Founder and CEO, PolicyLink. Other speakers are Geoffrey Canada, President and CEO, Harlem Children’s Zone, Sally Squires, Former Health and Medical Writer for the Washington Post, and Joseph Thompson, MD, Surgeon General of Arkansas.
