Beat the Heat’s signature event, the Georgia Natural Gas Beat the Heat Ride, is a 100K challenge bicycle ride that starts at Falling Waters and finishes at the top of the world-famous Brasstown Bald Mountain. With the support of the Tour de Georgia Foundation, Children’s launched Beat the Heat this year to continue generating support for its wellness initiatives from multi-sport and cycling enthusiasts. True to its mission, Beat the Heat’s two-day itinerary seeks to educate and engage both the athlete and the athlete’s family. Managing more than half a million patient visits annually at three hospitals and 16 neighborhood locations, Children’s is one of the largest clinical care providers for children in the country.
