Parents shouldn’t force their children to finish their meal if they say they’re full, according to new healthy living guidelines released by the federal government on Thursday. And toddlers shouldn’t watch any television until they turn two, according to the Get Up and Grow guidelines. The guidelines encourage mums to breastfeed their babies for the first 12 months “and longer if you and your baby wish”. Television also limits toddlers’ ability to develop “a full range of eye movement” and “reduce the length of time they can stay focused”.
