Hayes Green Beach Hospital in Charlotte kicked off its new program with the westside YMCA, a 3 month course to help overweight kids drop some pounds. When Stevie Bridson hops on the scale, he’s not thrilled with what he sees. At nearly 200 pounds, the 13 year old knows he’s not living the healthiest lifestyle. Stevie has dieted, so his parents decided to enroll him in Hayes Green Beach Hospital’s new program, new generation. It’s a partnership with the westside YMCA aimed at helping kids maintain a healthy weight. To do so, the kids will meet once a week for 12 weeks with a dietician, behaviorist and a fitness expert, which Stevie hopes will help him lose weight. Read Childhood Obesity
