20% girls suffering from calcium deficiency: Study - Times of India- Topic: Childhood Obesity News

A study conducted by a private hospital in the city reveals that 20% adolescent girls between the age group of 14 to 17 were suffering from calcium deficiency. Talking to Times of India, Dr Iqbal Singh Ahuja, a gynaecologist at Iqbal Nursing Home, said, āThese days youngsters are more prone to lifestyle-related diseases. Dr Shweta Gupta, an associate professor with department of gynaecology at Dayanand Medical College and Hospital, said, āThere is an increasing incidence of calcium deficiency among children as they donāt eat a balanced diet.
