It will happen thanks to the national Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, which awarded the city a $360,000 grant to fight childhood obesity. The agency will try to reverse that trend using the grant money to improve access and maintenance for many of the city’s 63 parks. Places like Brennan could use the upgrades and city officials hope the improvements spill over into other areas of the economy. Top priorities include the Max Brandon Park on Dupont, Kearsely Park on the east side and Mott Park on the west.
