These foods are very appealing to young people and very often lead to an overconsumption of calories that are empty of other nutrients, unfortunately to the detriment of healthy foods such as fruits and vegetables. There is no argument that this omnipresence of high-caloric foods in the diet can lead to weight gain, especially at a time when children burn a lot less energy than before with the presence of television, computers and video games. The presence of genes that make some children vulnerable to obesity is another illustration of the importance of adopting a healthy diet early, rich in plant products, and in which the consumption of high-caloric products is reduced to a minimum. By introducing our children to the pleasures of healthy eating, the diversity of cooking styles and the wealth of cultures associated with them, we pass on to them values that will make them happier and keep them healthier.
