But health experts believe more needs to be done to boost the city’s poor health record and they have called on the Scottish Government to increase the number of training places for primary PE teachers. Parents must shove them out the door when its dry & bright and teachers need to find ways to get kids back to the ways those in their 30’s, 40’s and above played - when TV’s, mobile phones and other handheld DVD players weren’t so widely available. I think I read that in East Ayrshire a couple of years ago that they had Activity Motivators who went around the schools and over a six week period gotthe children interested and at the same time trained the school staff. This meant that at the end of the period the teachers could continue to deliver the activity. Read Childhood Obesity
